Statement from Deirdre Robertson:
In the interest of public safety and following the recent advice released by the government regarding COVID-19, Dundee Heritage Trust has decided to temporarily shut both Discovery Point and Verdant Works. We are sorry to have to make this choice but understand that in these uncertain times, public safety, along with the safety of all our staff and volunteers, must be prioritised above all else. This decision was made on Wednesday 18th March and will be effective immediately.
Along with these public closures, public events for April are also postponed. We will be closely monitoring the situation and hope that events scheduled later in the summer will go ahead as normal. Contact information is provided at the bottom of this statement for those who have questions about public or private events.
We will continue to monitor this fast-changing situation with safety at the forefront of our decision making. We will be posting any updates on our website and social media pages.
We recognise that this is an incredibly worrying time for everyone and that the health and safety of those close to you will and should be your top priority. If you are able to, please do continue to support your local charities and small businesses, many of whom will struggle to cope during this time.
In light of the many closures taking place around Dundee city, the DHT team are planning to make some of the content from both museums available on our social media channels, in the hopes of providing some entertainment to those stuck indoors.
Thank you all for your continued support. We hope that you stay safe and well.
